Melissa Lukenbaugh

Liz Blood is a writer, editor, and lifelong Oklahoman. Her work focuses on place, memory, language, and art. She is the writers’ assistant for the forthcoming Sterlin Harjo/FX Networks’ series, “The Lowdown,” and was the writers’ assistant for seasons 2 and 3 of their award-winning series, “Reservation Dogs.” From 2019–2022, she was a fellow at the Tulsa Artist Fellowship and was awarded the Fellowship's Arts Integration Award to make the Creative Field Guide to Northeastern Oklahoma (Okiebug, 2023). The guide features the work of 50 Oklahoma artists and writers and is published by Blood’s indie publishing company, Okiebug. Blood has edited and compiled many zines, serves as contributing editor at Oklahoma Today magazine—where she was formerly assistant editor, and is the former editor of both The Tulsa Voice and Art Focus. Her nonfiction has been published in Oklahoma Today, Cimarron Review, Hunger Mountain, Columbia Journal, The Tulsa Voice, and elsewhere. Blood holds an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Art and a BA in English from Westminster College.
