Melissa Lukenbaugh

Liz Blood is a writer and publisher from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is a staff writer on season two of FX Network’s “The Lowdown,” created by Sterlin Harjo. Blood was the writers' assistant for seasons two and three of Harjo/FX’s award-winning “Reservation Dogs” as well as season one of “The Lowdown.” Her essays and journalism can be found in Pokeweed—a local magazine she edits and publishes, as well as Cimarron Review, Oklahoma Today, and elsewhere. She was awarded the Tulsa Artist Fellowship's Arts Integration Award to make her book, Creative Field Guide to Northeastern Oklahoma, which features the work of more than 50 Oklahoma-based artists and writers and illuminates 90 of the region’s unique species. Blood is the co-founder of Okiebug, a Tulsa-based independent publisher that focuses on arts and nature. Blood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Westminster College and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is working on a collection of essays centered on Oklahoma’s cultural and natural landscapes, as well as several screenplays set in her home state.
