Melissa Lukenbaugh
Liz Blood is a screenwriter, essayist, and publisher from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She co-wrote, with showrunner Sterlin Harjo, the season one finale of Harjo’s/FX Network’s “The Lowdown” and served as the writers assistant in its writers room. She continues to assist award-winning writer/director Sterlin Harjo at his production company, Crazy Eagle Media. Blood was also the writers' assistant for seasons two and three of Harjo/FX’s award-winning “Reservation Dogs.” Her essays and journalism can be found in Pokeweed, Cimarron Review, Oklahoma Today, Sierra, and elsewhere. She was awarded the Tulsa Artist Fellowship's Arts Integration Award to make her book, Creative Field Guide to Northeastern Oklahoma, which features the work of more than 50 Oklahoma-based artists and writers and illuminates 90 of the region’s unique species. Blood is the co-founder of Okiebug, a Tulsa-based independent publisher. Blood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Westminster College and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is working on a collection of essays centered on Oklahoma’s cultural and natural landscapes, as well as a screenplay set in her home state.
